05 Oct 2021

ISO has published the results of its 2020 Survey of Management System Standard Certifications.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has published the results of its 2020 Survey of Management System Standard Certifications, an annual survey that counts certificates issued by certification bodies accredited by IAF Accreditation Body Members. The 2020 results reflect certifications as of 31 December 2020 and include 12 standards in total, including seven standards covered by the IAF MLA (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22000, ISO 45001, ISO 13485 and ISO 50001) and five additional standards (ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 20000-1, ISO 28000, ISO 37001 and ISO 39001).

The total number of valid certificates saw an 18% increase from 2019, driven in part by a 392% increase in certifications to the standard ISO 45001, which was published in 2018 and approved as an IAF MLA sub-scope at the 2019 IAF General Assembly. The Survey results also show increases in certifications to ISO 9001 (4%), ISO 14001 (12%), ISO/IEC 27001 (22%), ISO 22000 (0.7%), ISO 13485 (11%) and ISO 50001 (8%).

An overview of the results and the full Survey data are available on the ISO website.
