2024 IAF MLA Report Published

01 Jul 2025

IAF has published its 2024 report detailing developments under the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA). This report sets out the detailed activities that are carried out as part of the peer evaluation process to ensure that regulators, specifiers and businesses can have confidence in the MLA.

The report highlights IAF’s commitment to maintaining the integrity, consistency and global acceptance of accredited conformity assessment through a robust peer evaluation process. It outlines the activities undertaken by IAF, in collaboration with ILAC, and the evaluation activities undertaken by these organizations or the Regional Accreditation Groups. It also provides information on the activities of the IAF MLA Committee and the IAF MLA Management Committee in collaboration with ILAC under the Joint Management Committee.

Key developments in 2024 include the expansion of the MLA to cover new private and public sector certification schemes, new committee initiatives, and significant growth in signatories and accredited conformity assessment bodies. IAF welcomed the Global Accreditation Bureau (GAB), Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) and Systéme Ouest Africain D’Accréditation (SOAC) as new IAF MLA signatories, while many members that were already signatories achieved scope extensions.

With a growing number of signatories representing 100 economies, the IAF MLA remains a cornerstone of international trade and regulatory confidence.
