IAF Members Making Strides Under the IAF MLA

Since the last IAF General Assembly in October 2019, numerous IAF Members have joined the MLA or achieved scope extensions.

IAF Members continue to make strides in their recognition under the IAF Multilateral Recognition Agreement (MLA). Since the last IAF General Assembly on 28 and 30 October 2019, one Accreditation Body (AB) Member has joined the IAF MLA, while 43 pre-existing signatories have achieved scope extensions. Most of the extensions were in the occupational health and safety management systems (OH&SMS) category, which was added to the IAF MLA on 30 October 2019.

 

The new MLA signatory:

 

  • Southern African Development Community Accreditation Service (SADCAS), which was recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC 17021-3 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 9001, under the Level 3 main scope ISO/IEC 17021-1, on 09 November 2019.

 

Pre-existing signatories that achieved scope extensions include three Regional Accreditation Groups:

 

  • African Accreditation Cooperation (AFRAC), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scopes of ISO 50003 and ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scopes of ISO 50001 and ISO 45001 on 08 January 2020.
  • European co-operation for Accreditation (EA), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 05 February 2020.
  • Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC), recognized for the Level 5 sub-scope of IPC-PL-11-006 on 25 March 2020, the Level 5 sub-scope of FAMI-QS Certification Scheme on 02 April 2020, and the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 20 May 2020.

 

ABs that achieved scope extensions include:

 

  • Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scopes of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and ISO 50003 and Level 5 sub-scopes of ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 on 08 January 2020.
  • Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO 50003 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 50001 on 08 January 2020, and the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 05 February 2020.
  • Akkreditierung Austria (AA), L’Ente Italiano di Accreditamento (ACCREDIA), Accreditation Body of Serbia (ATS), Czech Accreditation Institute (CAI), Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS), Danish Accreditation (DANAK), General Directorate of Accreditation (DPA), Executive Agency – Bulgarian Accreditation Service (EA-BAS), Entidad Nacional de Acreditacion (ENAC), Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD), Finnish Accreditation Service (FINAS), Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB), Portuguese Institute for Accreditation (IPAC), Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau (LA), National Accreditation Authority (NAH), Romanian Accreditation Association (RENAR), Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA), Slovenska Akreditacija (SA), Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS), Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment (SWEDAC), United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 05 February 2020.
  • Comite Francais d’Accreditation (COFRAC), recognized for the Level 5 sub-scope of FAMI-QS Certification Scheme on 05 February 2020.
  • Norwegian Accreditation (NA), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 11 March 2020.
  • Tunisian Accreditation Council (TUNAC), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 23 March 2020.
  • International Accreditation Service (IAS), recognized for the Level 5 sub-scope of IPC-PL-11-006 on 25 March 2020 and the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 20 May 2020.
  • Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ), recognized for the Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 13485 on 01 April 2020 and the Level 5 sub-scope of FAMI-QS Certification Scheme on 02 April 2020.
  • Costa Rican Accreditation Entity (ECA), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/TS 22003 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 22000 on 02 April 2020.
  • Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 09 April 2020.
  • Institute for Accreditation of the Republic of North Macedonia (IARNM), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 04 May 2020.
  • Standards Malaysia (DSM), Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación (EMA), Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS), Korea Accreditation Board (KAB), National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB), National Accreditation Center of Iran (NACI), Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC), Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF), recognized for the Level 4 sub-scope of ISO/IEC TS 17021-10 and Level 5 sub-scope of ISO 45001 on 20 May 2020.
