IAF has published Issue 5 of IAF PL 3 Policies and Procedures on the IAF MLA Structure and for Expansion of the Scope of the IAF MLA. This document describes the general structure of the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA), the process for publication of the actual status of the scope of the IAF MLA, and the processes to expand the scope of the IAF MLA.

This limited update incorporates relevant elements of IAF MD 25 Criteria for Evaluation of Conformity Assessment Schemes into the IAF scheme endorsement process, to ensure that the endorsement procedure aligns with the expectations of the global conformity assessment community. By adding reference to IAF MD 25 requirements, the update contributes to the ongoing credibility, effectiveness and global acceptance of the IAF MLA.
