An article entitled ‘The effects of cooperation in accreditation on international trade: Empirical evidence on ISO 9000 certifications’, recently published in the International Journal of Production Economics, highlights the benefits of the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) for increasing the credibility of certification bodies and enhancing the trade benefits of certification for developing countries, which face particular challenges in accessing foreign markets.
