Whilst any organization certified to the previous versions of these two standards no longer has a valid certificate, IAF does allow for a certificate to be reinstated within six months of the 15 September 2018 deadline, provided all the appropriate requirements and processes have been adhered to. This includes the (transition) audit process having had to be initiated before 15 September 2018.
Thus, it is anticipated the transition rate will increase further from the 93%
This is the first time IAF has collected such data and provides an excellent opportunity for IAF and its members to track future transitions. With a base from the largest ever transition of Certified Entities to the revised versions of ISO standards and other sector-specific management system certificates, this information will be invaluable to chart the progress of future transitions.
IAF will be working further on reviewing these transitions, ensuring more efficient and effective transitions for Certified Entities, Certification Bodies and Accreditation Bodies alike.
